5.00pm
The Potato Challenge – Ian Prior and Andy Trimm with Charlie Hicks

Tickets: £5.00

Sponsored by Trinity Church

Ian Prior is one of Herefordshire’s top potato-growers who this year will harvest 800 acres for delivery to the major supermarkets. Near-neighbour Andy Trimm is a bio-dynamic grower and agricultural advisor to Monty Don’s TV series Growing out of Trouble; he will harvest less than an acre of potatoes for delivery to 30 local households as part of his box-scheme. They discuss the relative merits and pitfalls of their farming operations while you judge the potatoes, grown from the same seed, in a blind-tasting. Broadcaster Charlie Hicks holds the ring and sees fair play.
