A tutored tasting with James Oseland, one of America’s leading cookery writers and editor-in-chief of U.S. food magazine Saveur, that explores buying, keeping, and using spices such as nutmeg, cloves, cassia, coriander, and star anise. Brought up in suburban California, a trip to Indonesia in the 1980s as a student proved to be Oseland’s damascene moment. He spent the next 20 years travelling throughout Southeast Asia - the heart of a region that produces so many of the world’s essential spices.
